Polaris™ is our first chemical formulation and a drop-in alternative to polyurethane. Traditional polyurethane is a synthetic polymer with versatile properties like durability, flexibility, and water resistance. However, it is made with petrochemicals and toxic isocyanates and is hard to recycle. Polaris™ is a biobased and renewable alternative to polyurethane.
Our non-isocyanate polyurethane (NIPU) is easy to recycle and is made with renewable resources like plants, recycled monomers, and carbon emissions. Unlike traditional polyurethane, it does not use toxic isocyanates. We are currently working with our first partners to scale Polaris™ for use as a coating in the textile and fashion industry.
Linseed and soybean oil are renewable inputs that can be turned into biobased plastics without competing with our food supply. Recycled monomers and captured CO2 emissions provide lower impact options compared to petrochemical inputs. Thanks to AI, these resources can be optimized for use in a variety of applications.
We’re starting with types of coatings and adhesives for textiles that mimic polyurethane but without the dangerous petrochemicals and isocyanates. We call ris™ and it’s the next evolution in plastics. Effective, affordable, safe.
But we won't stop there...
We are creating a Matereal™ World.
